Why I’m Making This

I’m over 40. I have a stable career, a loving wife, and kids I’d do anything for. From the outside, everything looks great.

But I often feel a quiet, persistent loneliness — like the people who once truly resonated with my inner world have all drifted away. Life moves on, and the connections that once made it feel meaningful… fade. You adapt. You function. But there’s this space inside that never really refills.

That’s part of why I started making Silent Orbits.

Space has always comforted me. I’m not a physicist, but I understand enough to grasp how small we are, and how strange and beautiful the universe is. The idea that our consciousness might just be the cosmos looking at itself through a brief window of flesh — that thought brings me peace. It makes the noise of daily life, and even death, feel a little less heavy.

This game is a way to explore that feeling. Of being displaced in time. Of looking for meaning in ruins. Of wondering what remains when the signal ends and the silence begins.

If that resonates with you — welcome aboard.
